Project of transportation of steam generators from Serpukhov to Sosnovy Bor, 2015

Tugboat:

  1. Barge site pr.16801, year of construction – 1987, in the class “K R2-RSN”, carrying capacity of 1197 tons.
  2. Volgar-32 tug.
  3. Ozerny tug – 213.

Loads:

Steam generators weighing 390 tons, 2 on each barge.

In the summer of 2015, VIKAR carried out transportation of four steam generators, two each in one ro-ro barge, from the town of Serpukhov, the Moscow Region to the town of Sosnovy Bor, the Leningrad Region to the Leningrad NPP-2 under construction.

Each steam generator had a weight of 390 tons and dimensions: length 13.5 m, diameter 4.5 m.

Oversized cargo was delivered to the 2nd power unit of the opposing Leningrad nuclear power plant in a multimodal (mixed) way, in which VIKAR LLC performed the river part of the transportation.

Steam generators were loaded onto the barge using the RO-RO method, which involves rolling in oversized heavy cargoes located on the transport semi-trailer through ship ramps. For the transportation of heavy oversized cargo by the Inland Waterways of the Russian Federation, VIKAR LLC supplied barges – a project site 16801, with a carrying capacity of 1,197 tons and a tug Volgar – 32. The cargo was placed on a barge, taking into account the transportation scheme and the project of transportation of oversized cargo by river transport Fixed for regular places, for stability during transportation. Transportation of oversized cargo took place along the route agreed by the Customer along the Oka, Moscow, White, Onega and Ladoga rivers, canals and reservoirs. The barge-tow train proceeded to the pier in Sosnovy Bor, Leningrad Region, where steam generators were unloaded using the RO-RO method using motor transport to the shore and delivered to the storage area of the Leningrad NPP-2.
