In May 2015, VIKAR completed the first part of the transportation of oversized heavy cargo in the framework of the project to transport four steam generators produced by ZiO-Podolsk for the 2nd power unit of the opposing Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant. To carry out this project, our company provided the barge with a T-1002 platform, project 81109, with a loading capacity of 1000 tons, 69.4 m long, 14.0 m wide, PPP class M-PR 2.5 and tugboat Persey-1 “At the berth of JSC” Port Kolomna “. The project of transportation of heavy cargoes on a barge site of the ro-ro type provided for placing two steam generators on one barge. The cargo was loaded using the ro-ro method, i.e. by rolling the goods on the vehicle directly onto the barge, then the goods were put up on the transport cradle, fastened to the regular attachment points. Cargo placed and secured to the barge according to the Scheme for the placement and fastening of oversized cargo, developed by LLC “VIKAR”. Transportation of oversized cargo took place along the route agreed by the Customer along the Oka, Moscow, Onega and Ladoga lakes, canals and reservoirs. Thus, the barge-towing structure proceeded to the pier in the town of Sosnovy Bor, Leningrad Region, where steam generators were unloaded using the RO-RO method using motor transport ashore and delivered to the storage area of the Leningrad NPP-2.
